Education Mountain Update:
Education is more than the transfer of knowledge—it is the shaping of hearts, minds and the future of a nation. Recognising this strategic role, the Education Mountain continues to advance its vision of transforming Uganda’s education sector by equipping educators to become Kingdom ambassadors within their classrooms, schools and communities.
During the recent Education Mountain fellowship held on 4th June 2026, members reflected on the progress made so far and shared exciting plans for expanding the movement across the country.
The Education Mountain exists;
To integrate a biblical worldview into Uganda’s education system by nurturing educators who see teaching not simply as a profession, but as a divine calling. The vision is to inspire teachers, school leaders and education practitioners to intentionally model biblical values, influence learning environments and contribute to raising a generation grounded in truth, wisdom and integrity.
This vision aligns closely with the broader Seven Mountain Mandate, recognising education as one of the most influential spheres for shaping society and advancing God’s Kingdom.
Building Momentum
Significant progress is already being made. The Education Mountain continues to hold monthly fellowships, with each month intentionally structured around four key areas of focus:
- Prayer and intercession for Uganda’s education sector.
- Research into emerging educational needs and challenges.
- Development of the Education Mountain Institute.
- Benchmarking and learning from best practices.
Alongside these regular engagements, the team is working toward formalising the ministry through legal registration, strengthening collaboration with the IFU Investment Team, and building strategic partnerships with organisations such as Renew Uganda and SALT. These partnerships will help expand the Mountain’s capacity to influence educational policy, leadership and practice.
Empowering Teachers for Lasting Change
One of the key strategies is focusing on empowering educators who are already serving within schools.
Research has identified several opportunities for improvement within the education sector, including strengthening learner-centred teaching approaches and encouraging greater involvement of parents in the learning process. The Education Mountain therefore seeks to work closely with school proprietors, head teachers and practising teachers to address these needs through mentorship, training and professional development. Plans are underway to begin offering capacity-building programmes during school holidays, initially voluntarily, allowing educators to receive practical support while strengthening their Kingdom impact in schools.
Another area of emphasis is helping Christian schools move beyond academic excellence alone by intentionally integrating spiritual formation and biblical mentorship into the educational experience.
Expanding Across Uganda
The Education Mountain is not limited to Kampala. Members are already serving across multiple regions of Uganda, including Busia, Mbale, Mbarara, and other parts of the country. Through collaboration with regional education initiatives and the International School Project, the movement is reaching educators where they are, providing training and encouraging local networks of Kingdom-minded professionals.
Importantly, membership is open not only to teachers but also to anyone serving within educational institutions—or anyone who senses a calling to shape lives through education.
Looking Ahead:
The Mountain also plans to establish an Education Institute that will operate as a consultancy, supporting schools and organisations seeking to integrate biblical principles into their educational programmes and curricula. As the Education Mountain continues to grow, its focus remains clear: to raise educators who influence both the classroom and the culture.
By combining prayer, research, professional development, strategic partnerships and biblical discipleship, the Mountain is laying a strong foundation for lasting transformation within Uganda’s education sector.
The invitation remains open to teachers, lecturers, school administrators, counsellors, education professionals and everyone passionate about shaping the next generation.
Together, we can raise Kingdom educators who not only teach knowledge but also cultivate wisdom, character and purpose—transforming Uganda one learner, one classroom and one school at a time.
